Our family team runs Chakalaka the way Greek hospitality is supposed to work: coffee by the pool in the morning, honest advice about which beach to pick, and a SUP trip across the bay if you ask nicely. The rooms are newly built; the welcome is old school.
A family operation, literally
Chakalaka is run by a small team of family and friends. The person who confirms your booking is often the same person who carries your bags, recommends a taverna, and asks the next morning whether you slept well. Guests remember the team because this is hospitality without corporate anonymity.
New rooms, old-school welcome
The rooms and facilities are newly built, with modern bathrooms, practical kitchenettes and air conditioning made for August. The welcome is the older kind: coffee by the pool, honest local advice and, if you ask nicely, a SUP trip across the bay. Guests rate Chakalaka 9.2 “Superb”, which we treat as a starting point rather than a trophy.
Why Geni Bay
The resort sits above Geni Bay, across the water from Nidri. Restaurants, shops and boat hire are only minutes away, yet at night the water is often the loudest sound. East-coast beaches such as Desimi are close by, while Lefkada’s famous west-coast beaches make an easy day trip.

“A lovely holiday at Chakalaka”
The studio was clean, modern, had what we needed and had amazingly efficient aircon. It had a nice balcony with a lovely view of the bay. All the staff clearly care a lot about this place and work very hard to ensure people enjoy themselves.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. If you need early check-in or late check-out, contact us in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Is breakfast included?
Breakfast isn't included in the room rate, but a Greek breakfast is available each morning for an extra charge: fresh local ingredients, Greek specialties, and options for most dietary preferences. Just let us know and we'll set it up.
Is the swimming pool open?
Yes. The outdoor pool is open through the season, with views over Geni Bay. It is unheated.
Is parking available?
Yes, free on-site parking is available to all guests for the whole stay. No reservation needed.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, pets are welcome on request; additional charges may apply. Let us know in advance so we can prepare.
Is WiFi available?
Yes, complimentary high-speed WiFi covers the whole resort and every room.
Can you help us plan our days?
We do not run tours ourselves, but our team will gladly point you in the right direction: SUP and bike rentals, the walk to the monument and the church nearby, where to buy local honey, which tavernas are worth your evenings, and when to leave for Porto Katsiki to beat the crowds.
Which languages do you speak?
Our team helps guests in English and Greek, and also German, Hebrew and Swedish, so there's a good chance we can welcome you in your own language.
Is the resort good for families?
Yes. We have family rooms that sleep up to five or six, a shallow end in the pool for children, and all rooms are non-smoking.
