What we collect and why

Availability requests. When you send an availability request through this website, we collect the details you provide: your travel dates, party size, room preference, name, email address, phone number (optional), and any message you write. We use these details to answer your request and arrange your stay; the legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). We may also occasionally contact you with our own offers and news about Chakalaka Resort, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping people who have enquired informed (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). You can opt out at any time, and every marketing message includes an unsubscribe link. We never sell your details or share them for anyone else’s marketing.

Email delivery. Your request is delivered to reservations@chakalakaresort.com by Resend (Resend, Inc.), our email service provider, acting as a data processor on our behalf. Replies remain addressed to you and the resort inbox so the conversation can be handled consistently. We do not share your details with anyone else for their own purposes.

WhatsApp and phone. If you choose to contact us via WhatsApp or phone, your communication is governed by those services’ own privacy policies.

Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address to send occasional offers and news. This is optional and based on your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)); we use double opt-in, so you confirm by email before we add you. The list is managed by Resend (Resend, Inc.) as our processor, and every email includes an unsubscribe link so you can opt out at any time.

Optional website measurement. If you choose “Allow measurement”, Google Analytics and Google Ads receive technical website interaction data so we can understand visits and measure successful availability enquiries and phone-number clicks. These events do not include form contents, your name, email address or phone number. Google LLC provides these services. If you decline, the Google tags are not loaded. You can change your choice through Cookie settings in the footer.

What we don’t do

• We do not load advertising or analytics measurement unless you have consented.
• We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for their own purposes.
• We do not send marketing email unless you have explicitly asked for it.

Retention

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to manage your booking and for up to 2 years afterwards for accounting and dispute-resolution purposes, unless a longer period is required by law.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Greece this is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr). To exercise any of these rights, email us at reservations@chakalakaresort.com.

Hosting

This website is hosted on Vercel (Vercel Inc.), which may process technical data such as IP addresses in server logs for security and delivery purposes.
